For those who believe that Vastushastra is a science of structures but would not trust all vastushastra consultants, can now avail of the same knowledge for the first time on the computer, through a professional agency called Unnaty Vastu Consultants, located at Fort.
Vastushastra promises prosperity among other thing. Mr. Bharat Gandhi, who is an architect by profession and the founder of the consulting agency, cities his own example to prove the point.
“ I bought a dilapidated house at a distress sale two years ago. I was not aware of Vastushastra at the time. But I made a few changes in the structure. And within two years I have become four times richer.”
Mr. Gandhi says that without consciously doing so, the changes he had made were in accordance to the vastushastra. When he saw this, he spent the next six months studying this Vedic science and another six months to design a software on the vastushastra, the first of its kind.
Mr. Gandhi claims to have experimented the software Vastushastra at five sites and they have been relatively successful.
Vastushastra is the science of structure, based on five bio-chemical forces: Solar energy, magnetic field energy, gravitational forces, cosmic radiation, and wind energy.
People often doubt the practicality of vastushastra especially in the modern cities where everything is against the suggestions of the vastu, and hence need to be rectified. However, Mr. Gandhi disputes the common belief that vastushastra has to be applied before the structure is built. According to him, one can obtain perfectly good results by the application of vastushastra in the existing home or office.
Mr. Gandhi’s firm – Unnaty Vastu Consultants, plans to target the middle class man as its main client and offers its services at a cost of Rs.2,500 plus. All the client needs to do is to submit his site plan and details of the surrounding areas together with directions of the rooms, etc., and Mr. Gandhi promises a prompt and unbiased report within 48 hours.
Mr. Gandhi currently operates from Fort, but intends branching out and setting up offices at Baroda and Pune.
So whether you are a flat owner, office owner, architect or builder, Unnaty Vastu Consultants will furnish you with a comprehensive and computerized vastu report.

“COME TO me, I promise you prosperity,” would be the right slogan to advertise the services Bharat Gandhi offers. But the 42 years old architect thinks his approach is very scientific.
“I am not here to make claims. If the principles of Vastushastra are followed properly, it does result in good health, wealth and happiness,” says the founder of Unnaty Vastu Consultants, sitting at his office in Fort.
If you think that attending a talk on Vastushastra would cost you Rs. 600 and to evaluate your flat according to the ancient science would cost you a fortune, you are in for a surprise.
Whether it is a two-room flat, a mansion, factory premises or a 100 roomed hotel, your vastu needs will be taken care of after you have submitted the site plan with the north and west direction. Along with detailed reports, UVC gives you recommendations and weightage factors via percentages which have been scientifically researched and evaluated by
Gandhi.
Gandhi took to vastu recently after having worked years as a consultant and an interior decorator. He has done the interiors for the West coast industries conference cum showroom, Captain Deck, Juhu, Medinova Diagnostic Centres at Pune, Geo Chem Lab at CST, and so on, besides several banks, residential premises and offices.
He toyed with passive solar architecture; but abandoned it because there were no takers. He then came across the ancient science of structure- Vastu and Feng Shui. While doing a case study of 25 tenants of a Mumbai housing colony, he realized the importance of vastu. “I found that the prosperity or otherwise of the tenants was all due to vastu or lack of it,” he explains.
He bought a dilapidated house at a distress sale at Kotachiwade and made few changes. And since then, according to Gandhj, he has been really doing well. With software which makes recommendations as per vastu, Gandhi is reality sitting on a pile of money. He doesn’t in tend to put the software on sale – obviously. Below is the picture of the bungalow at khotachiwade.
Vastushastra is the science of structure, irrespective of the use to which they are put to. Houses, industrial units, shops, business establishments, hospitals and even temples are governed by the principles of vastu. It has its basis on the five elements of nature namely solar energy, magnetic field energy, gravitational forces, cosmic radiation and wind energy. The practitioners of vastu believe that a home is not just made up to stone, bricks and cement, but is shaped by human interactions. So, a structure designed and built according to vastushastra is likely to yield prosperity and well being.
UVC invites client participation with an enlightened approach to even the mundane and routine domestic activity. For instance, advice and recommendations are given for the location of the water filter, positioning of the cuddapah in the kitchen platform. It could suggest a change in the placing of your phone from bedroom to the living room or putting up potted plants on the window sill. “It is a wrong belief that vastu has to be applied before building he structure,” explains Gandhi. “One can get good results by the application of vastu principles, in any existing house and often by minor rectifications and small relocation of the furniture.”
It works on all directions. For instance, if on the north-east of your premises there is an open space you are assured of good health, wealth, fame and prosperity. It’s the same if your living room is in the north. Having plantation around the north-western part of your house assures you good health and having your pooja on the south-west is not beneficial and so on.
Gandhi has been offered to do the vastu of a 40 room hotel in USA and a tile manufacturing unit in Dubai. “Since I designed the C. Tribhovandas and company showroom (at Old Customs House Road), it is really doing well, “he claims.
Gandhi has now gone into retailing of his services and opened centres at Andheri, Powai and one each at Pune and Baroda. Going by the acceptance of Vastu, time is not for when Gandhi’s promise of prosperity may really become his slogan. Bharat Gandhi: Giving a new dimension to this ancient science
An article dated 23/5/1996 that appeared in INDIAN EXPRESS newspaper.
There could not, perhaps, be a better example of the blend of an ancient Indian science and state-of-the-art technology.
With the launch of a DOS-based software system on April 20, the Unnaty Vastu Consultants (UVC) has become the first computer company to incorporate the applications and niceties of “Vastushastra’ on a floppy disk.
Vastu, or Vastushastra, is a very old Indian science of architecture which is once again gaining popularity – film star Sunil Dutt and former Minister of Railways Jaffer Sharief being among those who do believe that a house built in accordance to Vastu can bring good luck.
“Now we can easily furnish you with comprehensive, computerized Vastu reports, be it a small flat or a vast plot,” said the man behind this unique merger. Bharat Gandhi of UVC.
According to Gandhi, who is a professional architect, UVC also recommends scientific guidelines for a house structure, along with the detailed report, at a very nominal cost. : Currently a Vastu expert charges more than Rs.10, 000 to re-orient a two-bed-room flat.
However, we will charge Rs.2, 500 only for the same job.” explained the 42-year-old architect.
Gandhi and four others had worked continuously for six months at a stretch to develop the software. His second software, based on Computer Aided Design system, will be the next to follow.
“I developed an interest for Vastushastra two years back when I bought a 49-year-old bungalow from a businessman who had gone bankrupt. Allaying fears that the bungalow may be a bad omen for me too. I began living there after making a few changes as recommended in Vastu.” recalled Gandhi adding that he hasn’t looked back since then.
Vastushastra is also referred to as the edifice science and is based on the five bio-energy forces.

He is proud to have this first. Bharat Gandhi, of Unnaty Vastu Consultants if offering vastushastra consultancy with a difference on computers.
This is first time that anyone is offering such fully computerized services.” After a in-depth research spanning over a year and numerous cases, Gandhi decided to develop this special package. My special team was given this task,” adds Gandhi.
And he is confident of a commercial success. The base of his confidence lies in the growing middle-class population. “Now the middle class have started realizing the existence of vastushastra and are keen to take advantage of this science,: says Gandhi.
“While the range of our consultancy is vast and all encompassing, our recommendations may start as low as Rs. 2500/-, since it is the commitment of Unnaty Vastu Consultants to keep costs down to the bare minimum,” he adds.
The weightage factor is truly unique, in that no situation is branded as 100 per cent good and 100 per cent bad. It recognizes the varying shades of benefits, albeit however little a particular situation may have to offer. Therefore, this software almost guarantees an accurate assessment each and every evaluation.
The recommendations are user friendly. They invite client participation with an enlightened approach to even the mundane and routine domestic activity. For instance from the health point of views, advice and recommendations are given even for the location of the water filter and the position of the stone in the kitchen.
Similarly, meaningful evaluations are offered as regards the television and telephone connections. Every point has been looked into with a scientific evaluation, and subsequent recommendations thereof.

An ancient Indian science on state-of the art technology? This is precisely what 42 years old architect, Bharat Gandhi, has done by developing the Vastushastra software. Gandhi’s Unnaty Vastu Consultants (UVC) has become the first company to incorporate the Vastushastra, an old Indian science of architecture, on a floppy disk. Gandhi has developed and designed the software on FoxPro, a user friendly, DOS- based software. UVC is now in a position to provide its clients with computerized Vastu reports, for an empty flat, a furnished flat, or a bungalow. According to Gandhi, while other ‘Vastu’ consultants charge anywhere from Rs.10, 000 to re-orient a two-bedroom flat, UVC will charge Rs 2,500 for the same job. Plans are also on to develop another software on CAD, but this will probably take a year to come through.
